Spring 2026 #2/10: Carrots, Colorful Radishes & Sprouting Broccoli

Mark worked in several fields of cover crop over the weekend, and this morning, you could see vapor rising and undulating over the soil as the sun was hitting the cold ground. It was stunning, to say the least. We’re crossing our fingers that the timing will work out and that a few beds will be dry enough for us to do a bit of outdoor planting ahead of April’s first showers.

A hearty harvest of Purple Sprouting Broccoli is headlining our list again this week, along with a rainbow of colorful Radishes from the root cellar and the last of our Carrots in storage. Luckily we can bolster our dwindling supply with a few from the Snoqualmie Valley for this week’s Spring holidays, because I have five beautiful words to share with you— Four Ingredient Carrot Basque Cheesecake. We have wonderful Whitney, a member of our CSA, to thank for this awesome recipe. She made her version with a Parsnip Puree, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it for weeks!
