LET’S GROW & SHARE

At Wild Hare Organic Farm, we provide shares of healthy, seasonal organic fruits and vegetables year-round. You can join us season by season, large or small, or commit to multiple seasons and receive a discounted rate.  Depending on availability throughout the year, Eggs from our hens, Salad Mix and Artisan Bread may be added to your weekly pickup. In addition to the basic share, there are herb gardens and cut flower beds that share members are invited to harvest from throughout the year— free of charge.  CSA members can also make the most of a 10% discount on purchases of additional organic produce and plants at the farm stand. The Wild Hare CSA program operates year-round, divided into four seasons:

Winter 2024:  January 16 - March 20 (10 Weeks)
Spring 2024:  March 26- May 29 (10 Weeks)
Summer 2024: May 30- Sept 30 (18 Weeks)
Fall 2024:  October 3-December 13 (11 Weeks)

HOW TO JOIN THE CSA:

This year, CSA Registration will occur in phases. We’re adapting our registration practices to best serve our existing members and respond to increased interest in our CSA.

CURRENT/RETURNING MEMBERS:
Priority Registration will begin SOON for past and current members of the Wild Hare CSA.  Please watch for an email in your inbox in early December 2023. Payment will not be due until the the start of your chosen season(s); however, we wanted to offer you the opportunity to reserve your share of the harvest for Spring, Summer and/or Fall before we begin to open available shares to the Waiting List.

NEW MEMBERS:
In 2024 we will open up available shares to people who are waitlisted.
Katie will work through the waiting list, in order, and contact you if/when a share is available. If you’re interested in becoming a member of our CSA at any point during the upcoming year and haven’t done so, please sign up for our Waiting List.

FAQ:

When and where do I pick up my share?

  • Tuesday at the Farm (12-7pm)

  • Wednesday at the Farm (10am-5pm)

  • Wednesday at North 47 Brewing Company, Browns Point (4-7pm) Spring, Summer & Fall ONLY

  • Saturday at the Farm (9am -2pm) SUMMER ONLY

What size share should I purchase?

We have two share sizes to choose from, large and small. These guidelines vary greatly of course, depending on the age of the people who will be eating the share and whether or not vegetables are a main dish. Feel free to call the farm or ask at the store for further guidance.

  • Large Share: Valued at $35 a week and we recommend for about two to four people, depending on your veggie eating habits and how often you cook at home.

  • Small Share: Valued at $25 a week and will feed one to three people.

Not sure what size will be your best fit? We recommend starting with a small share and sizing up to a large if you’d like during the season.

What kinds of add-ons are available for the shares?

Once you’ve chosen your large or small share, you might consider adding one of the following to your weekly pickup as they are available: The pricing below is for 2021:

  • Egg Share $10/dozen or $5/half-dozen of delicious certified organic pasture-raised eggs from our flock of lovely Wild Hare Hens.

  • Salad Share $5, per week for 1/2 lb of our Wild Hare Salad Mix (Available Summer Only)

  • Artisan Bread Share $5/week, for your choice from a wide array of loaves, rolls, gluten free options and even pizza crusts delivered on Tuesdays from Essential Baking Company.

What about Full Year Shares?

Full Year Shares are billed and renew annually rather than seasonally.  When you commit to eating in season with us all year long with a Full Year Share, you pay once a year and will receive a discount of 10% off the season-by-season price. If you are a current member of the CSA and would like to sign up for a Full Year Share, please let Katie know.

How will I know what is in my share?

The items in the share vary based on the season. Weekly newsletters, typically sent and posted by Monday evening, will provide you with tips about what will be in the share, recipes and tips for storing, cooking and preserving your share of the harvest.  You can check out our Newsletter Archive anytime.

How do I pay?

Options to pay by credit or cash/check/EBT are available.   Members may make arrangements for monthly payment plans; however, additional processing fees may apply.

Cancellations: By buying a CSA — a share of the harvest — you have made a commitment to the farm for a season. We commit to you to grow produce for the season.  Therefore, we can only give store credit for cancellations, not cash refunds.  If you are moving out of the area, we encourage you to sell or gift your share.  If there are extenuating circumstances, please let us what they are and we will try to work out a fair solution for all.

Should I bring anything with me when I pick up my share?

We encourage people to reduce and reuse wherever possible, so feel free to bring your favorite boxes, baskets, bags or cartons from home.

What if I can't pick up my share?

Illness, vacations or just forgot! Life happens, but if we're in the know, we can help make alternate arrangements with you.  During the summer share season, we are happy to arrange an  alternate pick-up day if you give us a week's notice.  We are pretty flexible since you pick up your share at the farm and not at a drop-off point, so we can often make arrangements for you to pick extra, or double-up when you miss.  Please let us know ahead of time!  Running late? Call or text and we will bag up  your share and make available for you to pick up after hours.   You may ask a friend or family member to pick up your share if you will  be out of town, otherwise, we are more than happy to donate your share if you are not able to use it on any given week.

Is there a farm stand store discount?

Yes! Share members get a 10% discount on most other items available in our store when you are a current member.
