We’re back for Winter!
Winter 2026 #1/10
We’re looking forward to welcoming you all back to the Wild Hare Farm Stand this week! Our Winter Hours and CSA Season start on Tuesday, January 13th (Noon-7pm) & Wednesday, January 14th (10am-5pm), and the crew is back together putting together a really great offering, ringing in the 2026 harvest with one big beautiful haul of Brussels Sprouts and much more.
Mark and I were really thankful for the opportunity to enjoy a few weeks away from operations. We spent the break ordering seeds, thumbing through stacks and stacks of cookbooks, celebrating holidays with family and friends, and most significantly, taking our first family vacation in far too long, returning to New York for the first time in 15 years. We spent a few days in the city before venturing out to the Long Island to show Hazel around her birthplace and first home. We took in a lot of art, great food, transit, great bagels, snow covered farms and cold beaches. It was a real gift of a time together, and I can’t wait to share details soon. Sadly, my last week off took a turn for the worse as I have reinjured my back (grrrr!), and I have a bit more recovery ahead of me. I’m hoping to be back in the farmstand by next week, but in the meantime, know that you are in the best of hands with this wonderful crew in my absence.
Needless to say, this setback has me running behind on so many of the things that I’d hoped to accomplish before we reopened, but I’m making my lists and wading my way through my inbox and wanted to thank the loads of you who reached out to check on us when the massive rains and flooding events hit Western Washington at the beginning of Winter Break. Our home and farm were safe, though the same cannot be said for many others in our state. Communities, businesses, families and our regional food system are going to be impacted for quite some time. If you’re looking for ways to help out, Eat Local First has compiled a great list of ways that you can still support Flood Relief in our region.
Here’s to community and another year of growing together,
Katie
